Flick Privacy Policy
Effective
Flick is a scorekeeping app for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. This policy explains what data Flick uses, why it is needed, and the choices available to you. Flick does not sell personal data or use it for cross-app advertising or tracking.
Data Flick handles
- Account and profile: your Firebase user identifier, name, email address, username, profile photo, and sign-in provider.
- Scoring and match data: players, teams, sport, scoring rules, points, results, timestamps, position history, and preferences needed to score, restore, and synchronize matches.
- Health and fitness: only when you enable the relevant feature, Flick may use workout type, duration, heart-rate summaries, and active-energy summaries to save your workout and private match history. Flick does not place Health-derived fields in shared activity posts. Health data is not used for advertising.
- Social features: public-profile details, friendships, invitations, and match results you deliberately choose to share. New match activity is private until you change its visibility.
- Diagnostics and security: crash reports, app version, device and operating-system information, function errors, and App Check attestation results used to keep Flick reliable and prevent unauthorized traffic.
How data is used
Flick uses this data to authenticate you, synchronize your information, score and restore matches, connect your paired Watch, provide features you request, honor purchases, prevent abuse, investigate errors, and answer support requests. Access is limited to the purpose for which the data was collected.
Storage and service providers
Account and synchronized app data are processed using Google Firebase, including Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions, App Check, and Crashlytics. Apple processes Sign in with Apple, StoreKit purchases, iCloud Drive or Files destinations you choose, and HealthKit data under Apple's terms. These providers may process technical data needed to operate their services.
Backups and migration
Flick creates an on-device safety backup before legacy migration and before restoring another backup. Local backups remain inside Flick and are removed if the app or account's local data is removed. You can save a copy to iCloud Drive or another Files folder you choose; that external copy is then controlled by you and your selected storage provider.
Flick data backups contain players, match history, and scoring preferences. They do not contain sign-in credentials, purchase records, friendships, or Health data. A raw legacy database package is intended for disaster recovery and support and is not restored directly over live Firebase data.
Sharing and visibility
Private account and match records are available only to the signed-in account. If you choose friends or public visibility for a result, the result and profile details shown in the sharing screen can be viewed by that audience. You can change or remove shared activity from Flick. Do not include sensitive information in captions or player names.
Retention, export, and deletion
Flick keeps synchronized data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. You can export your portable Flick data from Profile. You can permanently delete your account and associated cloud data from Profile → Delete Account and Data. Deletion also revokes Sign in with Apple access when applicable. Copies you exported to Files are not deleted automatically because Flick no longer controls them.
Your choices
You can decline Health access, keep match activity private, remove a profile photo, export or delete local backups, revoke permissions in system settings, sign out, or delete your account. Some features cannot work without the specific data they depend on.
Children
Flick is not directed to children under 13, and Flick does not knowingly collect personal data from a child under 13 without the authorization required by applicable law. Contact us if you believe this has happened.
